Touch of Bitch is the first full length Young Coconut LP, released in 2007, and fully recorded and produced by YC himself.
The story behind the album is a fun one - YC used to work at a group home, looking after some residents, and, prior to the album being recorded, there was a vacation involved, where YC drove the residents to a place called Wheels Inn in Chatham, Ontario.
While there for several days, amidst the hubbub of looking after his clients while they ran around this inn, YC wrote what would become several of the tracks on this album, which he later recorded with his fledgling recording setup, featuring a Presonus Firepod, as well as Cubase LE (complete with indispensable dongle).
Some songs from this album were also culled from a number of 4-track recordings YC had compiled between 2002 and 2006, which featured songs that had yet to be heard by anyone, and which were in no way related to one another.
Still, being a fan of collage, and mix tapes, and abstraction, YC put together a song sequence that seemed pleasing at the time, and this is what became his first album. Namely, a collection of songs which fit together obtusely, not very well, and yet very well. A reflection of life at that time.
